Barbara Cook & Michael Feinstein

In the Fall of 2010, Michael Feinstein teamed-up for the first time with Broadway legend Barbara Cook at his namesake club, Feinstein's at Loews Regency.  As David Steward of Backstage wrote, "the most surprising aspect of the pairing . . . is that they didn't think of getting together sooner."  The chemistry between Barbara and Michael was something special, and the reviews of their performances were overwhelmingly fantastic (New York Times, "impeccable" - New York Post, "exquisite" - Broadway After Dark, "magical").  With this CD, released in January 2011, we tried to capture the magic of their performance.

Chris Grady

Bay Area trumpet icon, Chris Grady, released his debut CD On It in November 2010.  The album, with twelve original songs from local artists, is a true collaborations between great jazz musicians.  The music from this amazing Jazz quintet has been described as original, straight ahead be-bop that is at times funky, but also comprising some deep ballads.  Or as Chris would say, the album is "really going for more of an atmosphere of creative instability than anything else."  That about sums it up.
Michael Feinstein

Michael Feinstein, the five-time Grammy Award nominated, platinum-selling singer and pianist, released his 25th album, Fly Me To The Moon, in September 2010.  The album, featuring jazz guitar legend Joe Negri, is an intimate recording of classic standards with a sustained meditative mood.  As Steven Suskin of Playbill stated, "Feinstein purrs -- rather then croons -- songs of the night more fitting for a cozy living room with a glass of wine or a snifter of brandy, by the crackling fireplace.   The singing is for an audience of one or two, and it makes for Feinstein's loveliest album in years."  Or as Christopher Loudon of JazzTimes proclaimed, "the Fly Me To The Moon sessions represent a new threshold of coziness."  One things is certain, listening to this CD in an intimate setting will make it more so.
Semyon Kobialka

Following up on the success of his debut album, Wabi Sabi, Semyon Kobialka has taken his unique musical style to yet another place.  His CD The Miracle Mile, released in October 2009, is a compilation of eclectic songs, esoteric musicians and exquisite sounds.  If one expects to hear the same thing from his first to second album, think again!

Semyon Kobialka

Semyon Kobialka's unique technique of strumming the cello and singing original compositions defies classification of any genre of music.  His debut album titled Wabi Sabi was released in February 2007, and is comprised of 12 original compositions and a couple of cover songs (a Prince song, and an Elliott Smith song -- nothing ordinary about this CD).  With this album, Semyon takes the singer-songwriter genre by the throat and shakes it around until you find yourself in a whole new place.
